With a background in psychology, business management, financial services, and pastoral ministry, Dave Gaffney views current events from a unique perspective.

He started college in 1984, pursuing a degree in psychology, so he could help drug addicts and alcoholics conquer their addictions. During his senior year internship at Palmview Hospital in Lakeland, FL, however, he quickly realized the path he was taking was the wrong one.

Upon leaving college in 1988, he decided to go back to the world of business management where he flourished until embarking on a career in the financial services industry in 1992. He received his initial training with two premier financial planning firms: IDS Financial Services (now Amerprise) and CIGNA Financial Advisors (now Sagemark). In 1995, he embarked on his own, opening a boutique financial advisory firm. Due to personal tragedy, he left to world of finance in 2001.

In 2003, he returned to his original vision of helping drug addicts and alcoholics by forming Master's Plan Ministries. He also reentered the world of finance in 2005, so he could self-fund his ministry goals.

In 2008, he started writing his first book, which is still incomplete, but finished his second book titled These Things Must Happen in August 2009. It took months to find a publisher - no small task for a first-time author - but it will be released in 2011. Still active with Master's Plan Ministries, he now pursues ministry and non-fiction writing full-time.
